To Kill a Mockingbird

Chapter 6

"matches were dangerous, but cards were fatal." This refers to gambling, something that was frowned upon all over, especially in the South.

Chapter 5

scuppernongs are big white grapes that grow in the South.

The first paragraph has to do with the first set of questions about the letter of the law. Of course, there is more about this later in the chapter. There are also a few places in this chapter that have to do with stereotyping girls and women. The first of these is in the second paragraph of the chapter 5.
