Leah Holz - District Administrator - Leah Holz has been at MCS since 1999, when she started as a long-term 2nd/3rd grade substitute. She taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade, K-1-2, and 1-2 before moving to administration. Leah graduated from Wheelock College in Boston, MA with a degree in Human Development and an Elementary Education concentration. In 2005, she went back to Wheelock for her Master's in Early Childhood Care and Education, and simultaneously launched a new preschool program in Monroe.
Leah finished her CAGS Degree in Educational Leadership at New England College in 2013. She was hired as Principal of MCS in June of 2014. She completed the first cohort of Granite State Leadership in 2019. Leah obtained her Superintendent certification and was hired as District Administrator in 2021.
Beginning this year, Leah will serve as North Country representative on the Board of the NH Association of School Principals.
Rose Bogie - Business Administrator- Rose has been working in school finance since 2006 and joined Monroe in July 2015. She received an Associate’s degree in Business from Castleton State College and her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Champlain College.
Rose received her certification as a Business Administrator in NH in October 2022 and completed the Granite State Leadership Academy in the Spring of 2024.
In her spare time Rose enjoys reading, kayaking, spoiling her young nephew, being outside, and spending time with friends and family.
Emily Bushway - District Administrative Assistant- First year at Monroe and very excited to be here! Emily is from Bethlehem, NH. She has been a secretary/admin assitant for 3 years at another school. She earned her Bachelor's in Humanities and a certificate in Early Childhood Edcuation at Wheelock College in Boston, MA. She has then gone on and gotten her Master's in Curriculum and Instruction at WGU and has her K-12 Library Media Specialist Certificate from Plymouth State. In August 2025, she completed the TopNotch Triathlon! In her free time, Emily is a big lover of reading. She enjoys her camper over in Danville with her husband Zachary and their large orange Tabby cat, Hagrid.
Karen Remick - Executive Secretary - Karen grew up in Monroe and moved back to town with her husband Oren and two girls, Molly and Kinley. Karen is excited about being back in this wonderful community and raising her girls here. She worked 6 years as a paraeducator before becoming the executive secretary.
Monica Bixby - Preschool Teacher/Preschool Special Education Coordinator/Special Education Teacher - Monica has been at Monroe Consolidated School since 2013. Monica grew up in Lyndonville Vermont. She earned an Associate’s degree in General studies from Lyndon State College. She worked as a Preschool Teacher at Littleton Area Head Start for 9 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Granite State College in June of 2013. Monica completed her Master's degree in Education through SNHU in 2019. Monica was able to travel abroad to Finland and Italy while getting her masters, it was truly an amazing educational experience that she enjoyed sharing with her colleagues. She loves being part of the Monroe Consolidated School Community. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, enjoys the outdoors of Vermont, she is always looking to learn something new and enjoys reading a good book. The ocean is one of her favorite places to visit!
Stephanie Chadburn - Kindergarten Teacher - Stephanie will be starting her 15th year at MCS. She has lived most of her life in Vermont. Stephanie lived down South in Virginia for a few years where she graduated from high school before returning to the North. Stephanie graduated from Johnson State College with a BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in psychology. She completed her Master's Degree in education through SNHU. She lives in Lyndonville with her husband and two daughters, Haley (a Senior in college) and Alaina (an 11th grader). Stephanie enjoys chocolate, traveling, reading, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and spending time with friends and family.
Jillian Bliss - First Grade Teacher - Jill is a physical-therapist-turned-teacher, and is loving her new career at MCS. She is from Monroe originally, and is so happy to be raising her own family in her hometown. Jill graduated from Seton Hall University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. For 11 years she practiced PT, largely in pediatrics, in California, Vermont, and New Hampshire, and carries her experience with her to teaching. Jill loves to read, run, and spend time with her husband Sean, and their four children, Evelyn, Hugh, Ruby, and Hannah.
Ally Morrison - Second Grade Teacher - Ally is from Barnet, VT. She began her teaching career at MCS in the fall of 2022, following her graduation from the University of Maine in May 2022. There, she received her B.S. in Child Development and Family Relations with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. She's a 2019 graduate from St. Johnsbury Academy. Before working at MCS, Ally was a substitute and after-school teacher. She worked in Vermont and Maine at Barnet, Peacham, Waterford, and Glenburn (ME) Schools. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, reading, and spending time on the lake.
Belinda Smith - Third Grade Teacher - Belinda Smith earned her BS in Elementary Education from Plymouth State College. She earned her master's degree in Education through SNHU. She has previously taught Kindergarten, First grade, and a combined Third and Fourth grade classroom. Belinda lives in Monroe with her husband, Arnold, her daughter, Delaney, and son, Chase. Belinda enjoys gardening, crafts, swimming and most importantly spending time with her family.
Brittany Bogie- Fourth Grade Teacher- I received my bachelors degree in elementary education and general special education in 2009 from Rivier College. Working in healthcare for 12 years I’ve recently decided to get back into education and join the team at MCS. I have lived in Monroe for almost 10 years with my husband and my 7 year old twin boys. I enjoy kayaking with my children and watching them do sports like karate.
Breanna Fearon- Fifth Grade Teacher- Breanna is excited to start her first year of teaching at MCS. She grew up in Monroe and attended St. Johnsbury Academy. In May of 2023 she earned her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Plymouth State University, with a double minor in Math Education K-8 and Coaching. She has experience interning with elementary through high school aged students in classrooms, after-school programs, and through coaching. Breanna enjoys paddle-boarding, ice skating, and spending time with her friends, family, and puppy Oakley.
Laura Tobin - Sixth-Eighth Grade Humanities Teacher - Laura is originally from Connecticut, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Education and Masters in Special Education degrees at the University of Connecticut. In the spring of 2014 she received a masters degree from Vermont Law School in Environmental Law and Policy. Laura lives in Peacham with her husband. Bill is a math teacher at Lake Region High School and a professional harpist. Their son Liam graduated from Clark University last spring with a degree in Geography and GIS Mapping. He is a GIS intern with an urban planning group in Southern New Hampshire.
Laura enjoys spending time with her family exploring the meadows and forests of Northern New England with their two rescue puppies. They can often be found doing volunteer bird surveys to support conservation efforts. Laura also volunteers as a trail steward for the White Mountain National Forest.
Michael Chadburn - Sixth-Eighth Grade Science Teacher - Michael graduated from Lyndon State College with a BA in Mathematics with a teaching endorsement for 7-12 grade mathematics. After graduating he taught high school mathematics at the Danville High School for 8 years. Michael is an avid rock/ice climber, hiker, skier, hunter and mountain biker.
Nathan Jordan - Sixth-Eighth Grade Math Teacher - Nathan is excited to come back for yet another great year with the Monroe Consolidated School community as the middleschool math teacher (and cheesy joke expert). Nathan attended New England College where he earned a dual degree in education and sociology. He has years of experience working with students in many facets including 5th through 8th grade classrooms, an alternative therapeutic school with 4th through 6th grades, and as an outreach worker through a mental health agency. He enjoys hiking in the White Mountains with his two loyal dogs, and playing music locally in his band.
Heather Flitton - Music Teacher - Heather is a native of northern New Hampshire. She is a classically trained pianist and vocalist. She received her Bachelor of Arts from BYUI in Music with a Minor in Education and Sewing. Heather has also worked in healthcare where she received a Medical Technician certification and certification as a Life Coach and Holistic Health and Wellness Coach.
Heather is a dedicated educator with a diverse musical background and believes in the importance of integrating music with every subject. She is passionate about helping students find their voice and giving them the tools to better understand, create, and communicate with music. She loves teaching private music lessons and has been teaching since 2008. Heather is excited to bring her years of experience on and off the stage to MCS. Heather loves graphic design, fashion, knitting, food preservation, and spending time with her family.

Amy McKeever - Library/Media Teacher - Amy is excited to be returning for her tenth year at MCS. She graduated from University of New Hampshire with a double major in History and English, received her Master's of Arts in Teaching from Brown University, and her Library/Media certification from Plymouth State. In addition to her job at Monroe, Amy is on the Board of Directors for White Mountain Science, Inc (WMSI). Before coming to Monroe, Amy taught high school English for many years. She lives in Easton with her husband and two children, Wyatt and Isabel, who are both high schoolers at Profile. When she isn't reading, writing or teaching, she enjoys spending as much time outside as possible: hiking, running, tending her vegetable garden, and playing frisbee with her kids.
Jackie Gaouette - School Counselor/ Coordinator of Discipline - Jackie has her Masters in clinical mental health counseling, and Bachelors in Social Work. She is a certified drug and alcohol counselor, a licensed school social worker, and licensed school counselor. She grew up in Monroe and now lives in Monroe with her family. She enjoys camping, all things messy and muddy, and her family.
Kailie Boothby - Special Services Coordinator/Case Manager - Kailie is entering her 14th year in Special Education. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education in 2009. She earned her Master's Degree in Special Education in 2012. She has worked both in New Hampshire and Vermont.
She enjoys spending time at home with her 7 year old daughter and her (almost) 1 year old puppy.
Courtney Dobart- Physical Education/Heath Teacher/Paraprofessional - Courtney grew up in Monroe from the age of 13 on, moving from Cape Cod Mass. She worked here for 7 years, as a paraprofessional, before leaving to be a stay at home mom. We now welcome her back for her third year as the PE/Health Teacher. Courtney graduated from St Johnbury Academy then went to Lyndon State College (Vermont State University) where she received a bachelor's degree in Human Services.
At Lyndon Courtney met her husband Josh, they now live right in McIndoe Falls with their three sons Daniel, Emmett, and Colton. Courtney loves spending time with her family, walking with her two dogs Stella & Tatum, playing sports, fishing, and truly enjoys being around children. She wholeheartedly looks forward to working with each and every child here at MSC. She is excited to start her 3rd/10th year here at Monroe. “There’s no place I would rather be”
Jennifer Graham -School Nurse - I received my education at White Mountains Community College for my associates and then went on to obtain my bachelors degree at SNHU. I have mainly worked in home health and hospice for my nursing career and am excited for this new chapter for school nursing. I grew up in Bethlehem, NH and now live in Vermont with my husband and two girls. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and our dog, as well as being outdoors.

Brittany Kempton -Title 1 Coordinator/Curriculum Administrator - Brittany grew up in Monroe, NH as the youngest of a large family. She attended St. Johnsbury Academy, and continued her education at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, VT where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. After graduating in May of 2014, Brittany returned back to her hometown. She now lives in Peacham, VT with her husband, Dylan, and two sons, Leo and Ivan. She enjoys gardening, fishing, running with her dog, and spending time with family. She can’t wait to start her ninth year at MCS!
Bill Edmunds- Custodian- Bill has been in the maintenance/custodial line of work for many years. He lives in Groton, VT with his wife, Salena, stepdaughter, Ella, and their 3 dogs (Bandit, Cooper and Yoda). In his free time Bill enjoys spending time with his son, Carter, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, and camping at his families campground. Bill is a family/friendly guy that enjoys time with all family and friends! He started at Monroe School in June 2024.
Kelley Meckes - Paraprofessional -This is Kelley’s 20th year at MCS and she is excited for more to come. She and her husband Jim, their dog, Cass and 2 cats Sam & Dean all share the home, although the cats think they run it. Their children Courtney & Josh, Amanda & Ed, James & Dessi not to mention the 7 (soon to be 8) grandchildren live close by and they are thankful for that. Kelley enjoys quiet nights on her back deck with family and friends, traveling, quilting, fishing, collecting gnomes & foxes. The ONE thing she loves about the Fall/Winter season is the BOSTON BRUINS are back to work.
Jacki Nelson – Paraprofessional - This is Jacki’s 25th year working in schools. Jacki is a New Hampshire native and a MCS graduate. She has always enjoyed working with children. She lives in Bath with her husband Joe, 2 golden’s named Caly and Penny, and 1 guinea pig named Gizmo. She loves being around her family, but also loves being at home reading and cuddling with her pups.
Judy Martin - Paraprofessional - Judy and her family moved to the North Country after she retired from the NYC Department of Corrections as a Correction Officer. Judy is active in the community having belonged to the PTF and 4H and most recently leading the Summer Swim Program. Judy started at MCS as a substitute in the cafeteria, and then a teacher substitute and now a part-time paraprofessional. Judy enjoys crafts, is a long-time avid quilter and more recently taught herself to crochet.

Aleksandra Lawrie- Paraprofessional- Aleksandra (Aleks) is originally from Rhode Island and moved to Vermont in 2018 with her husband. Aleks spent 10 years caring for the elderly population affected with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia. In 2023, Aleks graduated with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Vermont. For fun, Aleks enjoys skiing, making crafts with her Cricut machine and spending time with her daughter, Annabelle. Aleks started at MCS as a substitute teacher and became a full-time paraprofessional in 2024.
