Parents and Community Members:
Did you know that Monroe Consolidated School recognizes the critical role of nutrition and fitness in the academic success of every child?
Below are a few ways your students benefit from a Wellness Student Nutrition and Fitness Policy.
Students in Pre-K - 8 receive nutrition education that is interactive and teaches the skills they need to adopt healthy eating behaviors.
Nutrition education is offered in the school dining room as well as in the classroom, with coordination between the food service staff, teachers and Wellness Committee. Students receive consistent nutrition messages throughout the school.
The school district encourages all students to participate in school meals program.
Students are given opportunities for physical activity during the school day through physical education classes, daily recess periods and integration of physical activity into the academic curriculum.
The Wellness Committee conducts regular evaluations of the policy and makes recommendations to the School Board.
